dawn at Lake Ella

8/3/2020 – Monday

I’m on vacation but still getting up before 6 am to walk the dog because the weather here is full-on summer hours and the heat is deadly. Upside is that I got to see the full moon as it was setting over Lk. Ella, which is always stunning.

I don’t really have plans for vacation other than rest up — weekend was spent mostly in bed, reading and napping, which was glorious! Today I might try some personal productivity on projects I have in the mix, but nothing too stressful. Vacuuming needs to happen, though…been a while. 🙁

Since I was in no rush the walk was fairly leisurely and we got to explore a bit. There was a huge pile of trash sitting next to the large industrial garbage container near Black Dog Cafe, but it looks more like renovation trash (paint pails, piles of plastic water bottles) than “clearing out” trash, so I’m guessing it’s from the mysterious Chandler House makeover that is still in progress, best as I can tell. That’s just a guess but no other businesses seem to be in transition, in or out.

(But also: PEOPLE, PLEASE. The container is RIGHT THERE. It was not full. It was totally available! Why pile your trash next to it?

Humans are trash, is the problem. Just vile.)

Keely enjoyed the slow pace and kept pulling me off the sidewalk to investigate bushes and other foliage. Then as usual got home and flopped out on my bed for a few hours. It’s a dog’s life, for sure, and I can’t say I’m not jealous.
