It was very foggy this morning, and I was reminded that fog=water suspended in air when we got home and both Keely and I were wet. Ugh.
It does make for a quieter walk, which I notice even through my headphones, listening to one book or another. Keely was a bit scattered by it, I think, maybe due to echoing of sounds across the pond? Dunno.
The lights are out at Golden Corral again, and I have no idea if there is a pattern to that or not. Sign still says “closed temp” so not sure if it’s general maintenance that has people in there on occasion or preparations for re-opening.
Another place I cannot find any rhyme or reason to is whatever business has moved into the Chandler House off the cottage green. Lights on some mornings but not regularly, and people there on rare occasions. The sign out front continues to be a blank board. From spying in when lights are on in the upstairs rooms, I see mostly industrial shelving which are mostly empty. I wonder if it is some kind on online shop but then surely there are cheaper places to use for staging?
I don’t know if Black Dog is back to normal hours, but I’m pretty sure it is open part time anyway.
And this, I think, reflects why 2020 has been so stressful for people in general: the unknowning. The uncertainty. The knowledge that we simply don’t know.
It is unsettling and psychologically damaging, after so long. *sigh*
The water level in the pond is up a bit, no surprise given the rains of the past week. The ducks are enjoying it at least.
My new scooter might be arriving today! It will likely need to be charged but I might be able to use it tomorrow????? We’ll see! I’m excited!
