Keely was in an unpredictable mood this morning! While we cut over to Third Avenue as we always do for our weekend long-walks, instead of turning west toward Monroe she decided to cross Thomasville Rd. and keep going southbound on Calhoun to Brevard St.! Where, again, she declined to turn west and instead took us eastbound to turn north again on Gadsden, which got us home.
An adventure was had! Not entirely sure what was going on but the heart wants what it wants, and Keely’s was all about walking a different path this morning. By the time we were crawling up 6th Ave. towards the cut-through to our apartment we were both hot, wet, and sweaty due to the heat and humidity. Normally going along 6th she wants to head up to the Liberty Bar parking lot but nope, buddy, this morning she was all about getting home and sprawling out on my bed ASAP.
In the meantime, I stopped us long enough to snap a pic of this amazing mural by “The Mural Guys” aka O’Hara’s Electric, the some people who brought you the legendary “Giant Chihuahua in a Hoody” psychedelic mural:
I don’t know when this one went up, it’s on the inside of the fence which I don’t see often because I often pass it going in the other direction. And yes, there is ALSO a mural on the opposite facing fence but it’s harder to see as it is blocked by the large storage bunkers they have permanently installed there. I’ll share a photo of that tomorrow!
