dawn at Lake Ella

9/25/2020 -Friday

Work has been…rather chaotic of late, this past week was up and down stressful to varying degrees, so I clocked in this morning and simply forgot about writing this.

What I can tell you of this morning’s walk that I remember is that it was damp and warm and quiet. The rains from yesterday weighed everything down with a deluge of fast moving water — here is a photo of the effect when I got caught in a fast moving storm while trying to bike down to the store:

But in the end it was only enough to soak the landscape thoroughly without affecting it too much. Notably, the water did not rise in Lake Ella. Still, leaves were drooping and shiny and the ground soft with puddles.

Keely was complacent, happy to follow our usual path, and only seemed to remember halfway through that she likes to walk on the outside near the curb when things are wet. She paused at the intersection of Lake Ella Dr. and Ofc. Ponce Way, so I thought she might just cut things short and head for home, but with a sigh she turned back toward the park and finished out the whole loop.

Which is fine for her, after all, she gets to go back to bed!
