Keely was in a lazy mood this morning, which might be because of the rain that came through last night. She’s usually up with the alarms, flopping on me in an effort to get me out of bed, then herding me to the door. Not so this morning! She stayed in bed and then STAYED IN BED until I harassed her to get up.
It was a damp and dank morning so I don’t blame her for the lack of enthusiasm. The remains of a tropical storm are pushing across the state so it brought a lot of extra rain and humidity to us, but not enough wind to shove it all out. Gosh I miss those few days a couple of weeks ago with below-60°F temps!
Keely as usual after a rainstorm stuck to the outer edge of the sidewalk. She hates getting near the earth/grass/mud when it is wet, and will avoid it at all costs. Curious about where she would walk if she had her druthers, I gave over her lead and she promptly moved into the street. She was extremely happy to be walking down the middle of the road! Fortunately there is no traffic at that hour but I still pulled her back onto the sidewalk eventually, which she was not happy about.
Other than that drama, it was a quiet and mostly empty park. A couple of regulars where there and a few homeless people showed up as Keely and I finished up. I notice a small number of people are already decorating for Christmas; Halloween decorations were down by a lot, so I wonder if people will throw more effort into Christmas or if this whole year is just a wash-out.
