Today’s photo was a little blurry so I decided to lean into that, apply an artistic filter to make Keely look like an impressionist painter’s muse, and throw it out into the world.
Behind the scenes, it was blurry because she was wet and disgruntled and didn’t want her picture taken. Yes, I’m that terrible dog mom who doesn’t care and took her photo anyway. She’s wet from the rain, although I waited until there was a break in the weary drenching so that we were drizzled on and not drowned. Still. Wet dog.
She’s also, unfortunately, a dry dog since she’s stopped drinking water. She’s eating without issue or pause, so I have taken to watering down her wet food into a disgusting slurry so that she’s getting SOME water. I don’t know if this is a side effect of her meds or if it is something else.
…something worse. I worry, of course, because of her major immune system collapse in 2019. I will be calling the vet first thing in the morning, just in case. She is behaving normally otherwise — peeing, pooping, eating, sleeping. But then she also appeared almost fine in 2019 too, until things got really bad. She’s a trooper as my father would say and that does not work in her favor insofar as alerting me to problems.
So. I’ll just sit here, anxious and stressed for the duration.
