dawn at Lake Ella

2/17/2021 – Wednesday

Keely is still on the upward swing. Still annoyed that she isn’t getting her chewy or crunch treats, but I’m trying to make up for it with small bits of cheese. The fact remains is that I have a dog who can and will hold a grudge, so despite occasional acts of fondness, she’s mostly holding me accountable for both her (now fading) pain and lack of treats. *sad face*

Here she is from the other night being particularly mopey.

please ignore my cluttered living room that desperately needs to be vacuumed…

She understands the word “no” just fine, and so had a bit of a fuss when denied part of my dinner, huffing loudly and then flopping on the floor in the living room with her back to me. It is very much A Statement of Displeasure.

She still did not score any of my dinner, alas. My crimes against her know no bounds.

Our walk this morning was not quick but cold enough to keep us both moving briskly. I assume this is our last cold snap, and while I am enjoying it I do feel bad that it has come at the cost of major devastation and loss of life in Texas and other states hit by the extreme winter storm.

Which is making me dread summer all the more. Weather is just going to get worse and more extreme as the years go on…a reflection of politics in the U.S., ironically.

So, it’s on me to enjoy the pretty, quiet mornings with my dog when I can.
