Embarrassingly, I quite simply forgot to post an update yesterday. I got to work and am in the midst of several projects, and though they aren’t urgent, I just became swept up in them and suddenly it was evening and my head hurt and I went to bed early. Woe!
This morning’s walk was worth the wait, though. Cool and breezy and clear, it was a perfect spring morning and both of us took our time enjoying it. Here is Keely looking wistfully out at the gazebo’s peninsula:
Was she looking for the fox? Was she just sampling the breeze? She knew I was taking a photo and that’s why you get her droopy ears and somewhat put out expression — that really is her “I hate photos” look, up to the side eye. I love her so much! The photo is a little grainy because I had to sharpen it so much just to see her at all…my dear little unphotogenic black blob! <3
There were no regulars out at all, which mystified me a bit. The weather was lovely and there had been no heavy rain overnight, so I’m not sure why people are staying away. Maybe it’s a Friday phenomenon? Not sure, so I’ll have to keep an eye on it. Of course, it is also “in between semesters” and that always means a drop in activity in the city; buses are emptier, and everything slows down a bit. While we do not expect the summer terms to be very busy, the fall term is overloaded so things will hit fast when the time comes.
