dawn at Lake Ella

5/10/2021 – Monday

Yesterday was a disconcerting day…fun for the most part as I hung out with my friend Kim, but then got home and felt off kilter. I took to bed like a Victorian maiden with a fainting spell (sans fainting) and ate junk food for dinner.

Which is all to say that this morning was off to a slow start. Since I do not have to go into the office today, it meant I could wallow in bed a bit later than usual and so I did. Keely was obliging, but once I swung my feet out of bed she was raring to go, despite the warm, muggy weather. While it was only 70°F out, the humidity was high and we were both damp by the time we got home.

It was after dawn by the time we got out but despite some purposeful looking around, I did not find anything I wanted to photograph. I am still bitter that last night I ALMOST had a great shot of Keely being adorable, but my phone’s camera did not autofocus in time so it’s blurry. I’m saving it for the memories but it’s not suitable for sharing. Instead, have this other photo from yesterday’s walk:

I love the snarl of cables and the shadows and the color of the sky. I did very little post-processing work on this one, just a bit of sharpening and upping the contrast a smidgeon. I could get all metaphorical about modern connectivity resting on the bones of old technology but I’m not a poet so I will spare you.
