dawn at Lake Ella

6/10/2021 – Thursday

Work has been busy this week — not stressful per se but filled with projects that require a bit of brain power. So, I guess it makes sense that I’m so tired every evening…

While I slept in a little bit, I did get out us out for our walk before 6 am, and while the humidity has returned in force it was not too hot yet. Keely was on the hunt for the fox again, I think. She didn’t take us off course but she spent a LOT of time on certain bushes. It might be another dog she’s sniffing out but to be honest she’s never been particularly interested in other dogs.

Not many changes in the cottages these days. KB Cafe still seems to be undergoing renovation, and while the large street-side sign is still up all the others are still down. Who knows what’s going on there. Big Fish realty, which honestly is such a weird addition to the mix, has taken over a full cottage now and is also renovating it. I’m trying to pin down what it is about that office that I find so odd, and I think it is how the owner is approaching real estate like a retail business. She’s very much into the upper-class white woman aesthetic of manicured lawns and interior decorating. *shrugs* The business that moved into the Chandler House is still going, and still mysterious with no visible signs as to what kind of business it is. I’m sticking to my “online store” theory but why someone would fork out the money to rent in that particular location in order to run an online business escapes me.

Nothing caught my eye on our walk but I took this photo at the bus station, just because I liked the interaction of bright early morning light and the concrete. Not particularly artistic but I like it, so here:
