dawn at Lake Ella

1/26/2022 – Wednesday

This is being written a little later than normal because I was ambushed by a severe headache around 9:30 am. Fortunately I have no meetings at work so I was able to close the door and sit in the quiet long enough for the ibuprofen to kick in. Still not 100%, but eh, when are we ever?

This morning it was STILL raining. It rained yesterday, such that Keely had a short morning walk and refused to even let me drag her out the door for an evening walk. Fortunately I timed a break in the severe weather (thank you, weather radar app!) and we went for another abbreviated walk. We both still got damp, but she was able to relieve herself. All good!

Until I was on the bus to work and realized I left my lunch on the counter. So long, leftover butter chicken, I hardly knew ye. *sad!face*

I did notice that a sign has finally gone up at the old Crewe de Gras bar (next to Maria Maria Mexican restaurant), but due to rain did not get a photo of it: Black Radish Bar and Restaurant. Well okay then. Interesting name, very hipster, I’m assuming it will have regionally procured produce and ethically sourced meat. (Now watch, it will be a low-dive bar-b-que joint or something.) Between that and the renovations of the old Bamboo House (which I’m told is the new home for Midtown Pies?), that whole building will be back in business soon.

Meanwhile here’s this photo from last weekend, a random sign post from the corner of 5th and Monroe that I thought had personality. I don’t question, I just follow the muse!
