dawn at Lake Ella

2/13/2022 – Sunday

I guess it says a lot about me personally that I only just now realized that tomorrow is Valentines Day. Hmm. Ironic, for someone who writes romance novels…

Anyway, we got out a bit after 7 am and it was once again a chilly-but-not-cold 51°F. Even so, neither Keely nor I were in the mood for a long walk. Was it the cloudy skies oppressing our moods? Possibly. A very gray, wintery morning, at least for Florida.

On the way home I got a shot of the over-door signage for The Black Radish restaurant and bar. A few days ago I mentioned that their road-side signage (not this one) looked a lot like Liberty Bar’s sign and lo’! I was not wrong about the connection! They are both owned by the same company.

(Not happy with the photo, but it’s the best my camera app could do with the overcast skies. Even toying with it in GIMP didn’t get me much, and it says a lot that this photo has had the saturation spiked with little effect.)

Apparently The Black Radish will be a similar establishment to Liberty but with a focus on plant-based dishes. Plans were to open it in February but looking in the windows, I don’t think they are going to make that goal without some real scrambling. I expect an opening in early March.

I don’t know what it was about this morning but eh, I sat around reading fanfic when we got home, and ended up making nachos for “brunch.” There was meat! There was cheese! Totally a Sunday brunch food group!!!!!!!!!
