dawn at Lake Ella

2/19/2022 – Saturday, like nothing was ever there

It is a bright and beautiful morning today, no rain or dampness to be had, and by the time we got out the door it was around 45°F. A little bit of layering and I was set to go! Keely was definitely in a mood to make up for her curtailed walk yesterday, and dragged me all over hill and dale for about an hour and a half. I was definitely feeling footsore by the time we got home.

Me: Now that we’re home and I’m awake I should do a workout routine!

Also me: WTF? NO.

Keely really wanted to just march up Monroe Street forever, but I got her turned back towards home, but that took us directly over the grave of the the End Times Country Buffet. I hooked Keely’s leash to one of the stakes and took this photo:

That grass was not planted, it’s just the usual weeds grown up on a spot of dirt. If left unchecked, by mid summer the area will be fully filled in with wild plants and it will be as if nothing was ever there at all. Nature is quick to reclaim in these parts!
