dawn at Lake Ella

3/10/2022 – Thursday

Got an early start, slept better than the night before by far! Yesterday I did get some work done but not a lot, decided to take it easy and let my body recover.

Which means I got out for a late walk with Keely last night, and came across what I call the Three Old Ladies:

three bare trees

They are on Sixth Avenue coming up on Thomasville Road (that is the intersection in the background. . Normally they don’t show up too well but the lighting was right and they are bare of leaves (it IS winter after all!) so it just looked a bit spooky and a bit comforting, in strange ways. They’ve managed to survive a lot of the development going on in Midtown.

The walk this morning was erratic, due to Keely being on the hunt. I think she was after Nefarious Fox! She was rambling all back and forth around Lake Ella, then demanded to cross Monroe over to the Golden Corral parking lot, and was not pleased by my making her wait until there was a break in the heavy morning traffic. She was caught on the streets in south Florida, and I’m wondering how she survived…

This morning I am feeling a lot better and getting ready to sign in for the birthday Zoom meeting of my friend Gina’s writer’s group, Women Writing for Change! Then I have a lot of writing to do…
