Yesterday I marveled in the experience of having a day off. As in, not a “spare day to work on my own projects” but a day to just exist. I’ve talked about this before, how weird it is, and that has not changed. I took a day off from this blog. I puttered around, feeling lost. I colored in a coloring book. I watched some vids. I wrote some fanfic (wow!). I wonder if this keeps up if I’ll have the wherewithal to pick up drawing again, instead of feeling exhausted by the concept.
In walking news, we got out at 7:15 am, and it was chilly! Well, for Florida. It was 45°F, so I bundled up a bit with gloves and a jacket. We just went around Lake Ella, but whew, that took 45 minutes as Keely was catching up on ALL the smells. And since I did not have a bus to catch, I felt no need to drag her along, and just let her enjoy herself. We even toured across Monroe through the Sonic parking lot, and when we were coming eastbound on 7th toward home, I snapped this photo:
It’s not a great photo and I can’t say it’s a special tree, as there are a few like it on the meridian running down this block of 7th Avenue. But I like it’s reach, I liked the way the sun was behind it. I had to fiddle in GIMP to get it to lighten up the foliage of the tree without making the background too bright. I do enjoy learning to do that.
