I am working on refining my schedule a bit. Trying to find the best time for writing fiction is my biggest hurdle right now; I want to be writing 2k words a day and so far I’ve barely been clearing 1k. Which isn’t nothing! But not where I want to be with with my output. This morning I tried writing as soon as we got back from our walk, but before writing this blog. That seemed pretty effective! I’ll try it again a few times to see if it sticks. Which may mean putting off posting this until later in the morning…as I told a friend, once I write this blog post, I feel like I’m “at work” (and yeah, that’s just brain shenanigans, but it’s what I’ve got to work with) and not in a headspace to write creative fiction. To write other things, yes! But not fiction. I’ll keep you posted (literally, here, via blog posts! ahahaha I’m so funny!).
Anyway, on to more mundane things. Got out around 6:30 am and that felt familiar. It was only about 60°F which is a lovely temp for walking, especially with the low humidity.
Good news! The old dancewear store has been taken over by The Sharing Tree! Honestly I cannot think of a better location for it. It’s a great program and unfortunately for the past 4 years has been put through the wringer. It was originally over on 3rd, where the Drip Drop fitness studio is now. Then it got a big break and moved to Northwood Mall to a much bigger space…which, if you are in Tallahassee, you know how that ends. The old mall was condemned and everyone had to move out (it’s being razed and the new PD headquarters is being built there, because…cops need more money? Don’t get me started…). They went back to the 3rd Ave. location but that didn’t take, and now here they are. I hope a lot of kids get to enjoy art there this summer!
