dawn at Lake Ella

3/25/2022 – Friday

As I look at my to-do list, I realize that events conspired against me taking a 3 day weekend, but on the other hand, I’m still trying to figure out what I can possibly do with my so-called “free time” as I am at a loss about it. No harm done, I guess? ahahaha

Did not get out until 7:30 am. I know my 6:30 am alarm went off but I stubbornly laid in bed with my night eye mask on and my dog draped sleepily over my legs. No regrets, y’all. 🙂

I can tell April is (almost) here, because the amaryllis are blooming!amaryllis in bloom

They only bloom once a year, and this is the time! However it does also mean that grass-burr season is on the near horizon, and I will have to make sure Keely doesn’t spend much time walking through grassy areas. Her fur is very cottony so she’ll pick them up easy as you please, and then I’ll spend a lot of time pulling them out of her tangles and paws while she complains about it. *sighhhh*

Overall it was a pleasant walk, the first in two days that we didn’t get rained on to some degree. I’m surprised the water level at Lake Ella isn’t higher, but I guess that shows how dry things have been this season, despite the heavy rains rolling through occasionally. Like the old-timer I am, I go around telling people about how I remember how it used to rain every day in the early afternoon starting in the spring but you know, it DID used to be like that. Climate change, y’all. Whew. 🙁
