I was very tired this morning! Therefore, Keely and I did not get out of the house until 7:45 am, which was entirely down to me because Keely was very anxious for her walk, poor thing.
The other side is that it was only about 51°F out, a little cool and very pleasant. We took our time with a leisurely walk around Lake Ella. The reason that I was so tired is that yesterday I wrote a hell of a lot of words. And as we know, the brain is the hardest working muscle in the body. Collectively, I think I wrote about 5000 words, at least that was what my notion database tracking tells me. Not all of that was for stories, though, as I count the words I write for Keely’s Way, and other blog posts as well as developing course work. That also includes fanfiction, which I am happy to say I am having a lot of fun writing again after taking a very long time off from it.
Anyway, walk was nice, if a little noisy. The Canada geese are honking a lot because their gosling’s have been born. They are little yellow innocent fur balls who will grow up to be terrifying and annoying creatures, but for now, they’re pretty cute. The adults around them, though, are not cute, hissing at everything that moves. As well, the cottage maintenance guy was using the air blower to sift all the leaves off the parking areas…I guess back onto the grass? Who knows? I don’t understand the purpose of moving leaves around.
This morning was a brilliant sunrise, so I scooted into a corner of the west side of the pond to grab this shot, which I think is pleasingly atmospheric:
