We actually rousted ourselves out the door by 6:15 am, so it was nice and quiet out but also only 48°F. Brrrr! I bundled up.
There were a few familiar regulars that I haven’s seen in a while, but mostly, it was empty. Keely was being very indecisive about which path she wanted to take, so there was bit of to-and-froing through the cottage commons. She’s feeling better today, so she was all perky and ready to track down the fox, but alas, I think the fox was not on the menu (thankfully!).
I saw this set up which is possibly an art piece or a drunken excursion into ikebana:
I was working on dictation again this morning and I think I’m getting into the groove of narrating scenes. We’ll see. I can certainly put a lot of words down in a 20 minute dictation session, but are they GOOD words? Hmmm. Less sure about that!!! But every fiction author I know who uses dictation says it takes about a month to mentally adjust to “talking” a story instead of typing it, so I’m trying to be patient.
In other news, it’s Monday and this is late. I’m still not quite fitting “fiction writing” into my morning routine. I keep distracting myself, and I’m not sure if that is just habit from the day!job days, or a genuine dislike of writing before noon. Just a little frustrating. Yet, I’m very certain I need to crank out the fiction writing before I do other business-related tasks. So. Here we are. *grumbles*
