An early start! Out by 6:15 am because I woke up at 5:30 am for no damn good reason. :/
But it was very cool and windy, about 55°F, so I bundled up and out we went! It was nice to be out before the sunrise, as I really love that atmospheric time of morning when everything is stirring awake and it the slight hint of orange sky predicts true dawn. It is a lovely moment, and while I’m NOT a morning person, I do enjoy being there for it.
I got lost in dictation again (it’s coming easier and easier the more I do it, and so I tend to go for a lot longer than the 15 minutes I originally planned), so I did not take a photo, but I did get this one yesterday. Can you tell I was hold a treat up for her at the time? ahahahah!
In writing related news, I’m still struggling to find the best time of my day to do creative fiction writing. I’ve tried for a week now doing it first thing after walking Keely, but I’ve found that while I’m energized and feeling creative, my brain is very easily distracted, like it hasn’t settled down yet. When I try to get writing done it’s very much a battle to stay on task, with a lot of “SQUIRREL!!!!” moments.
When I was MUCH younger, my natural sleep cycle was the B shift; that is, wake up in the late morning, start “work” around noon, and then stay up until 2 am or so. It was one reason I was good at working in the nightclub scene, since by the time I got off work I was ready for bed. I’m half tempted to try that again, but honestly the thing holding me back is Keely. With summer coming in, I don’t want to be walking her near noon, which is what would happen. Neither of us deal well with a lot of heat and sun.
