dawn at Lake Ella

5/5/2022 – Thursday

WOE BETIDE ME, the the most difficult time of year is upon us:

watermelon

That’s right, it’s WATERMELON SEASON and I am, as ever, DOOMED. Why all the caps lock, you ask? Because I am a watermelon junkie, through and through. I will eat myself sick on it, which is why I do not allow myself to buy whole watermelons to bring home. I only buy the smal containers of cut watermelon, and only one at a time. I know my limitations, and when it comes to watermelon, I know I do not have any limitations. I love it. YUM YUM!

Onto more plebian things: I did not have much of a reaction to the COVID19 booster shot (Pfizer), which I’m grateful for. The last one (back in November, a lifetime ago!) put me down with chills and a fever, so I was wary this time around. I suffered a bit of brain fog and exhaustion yesterday, but the worst of it has been the spot where I got the shot which feels like I was stung by a wasp — swollen and red and sore and itchy. Ugh. Yesterday it got worse before it got better, and this morning it has faded to just being sore, thank goodness.

After a good night’s sleep, we got up and went for a walk. Keely was in a mood (I think her meds are making her a bit lethargic) so we did not go to Lake Ella, she instead decided to walk south on Monroe St. (¿¿¿why???) and then west on 3rd over to Duval. Okay, puppy! Whatever you want! She has a vet appointment this morning to check up on the UTI, so wish her luck!
