dawn at Lake Ella

12/9/2022 – Friday

Holiday decorations watch: still not there. It’s just so curious!

It was super foggy this morning, which ended with this photo of spanish moss framing Lake Ella. It’s a color photograph but that’s just how thick the fog was this morning!

foggy bottom morning

It was a nice 58°F but again, the humidity was over 95% so Keely smelled entirely too much like wet dog when we got home!

I’m doing some “personal work” on myself this week as the year wraps up. I’m using the free workbook Year Compass and going over what all I’ve done over the past 12 months is a bit breath-taking. I’ve done a LOT and it gives me much food for thought. In the meantime I’m meditating every day and trying to center my focus on my plans and goals for 2023. I admit, it’s hard when so many times I’ve “planned big” and failed to deliver; but on the other hand, often those goals were not backed up by solid hard work and tactical planning on my part. I’ve never been one with outrageous goals but on the other hand I’ve spent years believing I’m broken and unworthy of even the least of my desires. This isn’t about “dreaming big” in the way most online influencers peddle magical thinking; this is about changing how my brain works, something I’ve been working on for years through therapy and journaling and meditation. So in that sense, it’s just another year along the path.
